In this weekend workshop, participants will explore the intersection of half-mask with classical dramatic and comic texts. Detailed text study combines with inspiration drawn from the masks of the Commedia dell'Arte, examining in practice an embodied approach to performance that balances energy, games, and transformational character work. Scenes and fragments from Shakespeare, Moliere, and Marivaux will provide the foundation for this intense and revelatory lab experience.
